Ignite your senses!
Join us for an exhilarating afternoon of music! Internationally acclaimed violinist Yana Burova takes centre stage in Édouard Lalo’s electrifying Symphonie espagnole, a work that blends the sweep of a full symphonic work with the flair of a violin concerto. This is a masterpiece bursting with fiery rhythms, soaring melodies and vibrant spirit.
The program continues with the radiant optimism of Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 1 “Spring”, music that blossoms with hope, warmth and vitality; alongside the sparkling overture to Semiramide by Gioachino Rossini, a dazzling curtain-raiser of operatic drama and rhythmic brilliance.
All under the baton of MetSO Distinguished Conductor Bruce Herriman, and MetSO’s On the Podium Conductor Stuart Rhine-Davis.
