MISO Double Bass
Bursary/Scholarship
2021
The double bass is the lowest voice in many ensembles. It is a very versatile instrument, needed in just about every type of ensemble: orchestral, jazz, rock, pop, bluegrass, and more. Many double bass players easily cross-over to also play bass guitar.
Although these features make the double bass a desirable instrument to learn, the cost of hiring or buying a bass is greater than for other string instruments, making it prohibitive for many students.
The MetSO Intermediate String Orchestra (MISO) is pleased to offer a bursary for students to start or continue with double bass lessons.
Free instrument loan (12 months)
Free MISO orchestra/ensemble membership (12 months)
Free lessons for 1 term
Applications close Monday 5th April 2021
