Tina Algeri



Tina Algeri was born in Perth, Western Australia and is 18 years of age. She is currently under the tutelage of Mr Yoon Sen Lee. Tina started her musical journey at the age of 5, under the umbrella of Mrs Ivy Chan and Stephanie Huang through Yoon Sen Lee Music School in Perth, Western Australia.

Tina has entered various local and international competitions. Some of her first prizes in local competitions include the Open Championship section from North of Perth music festival, the Under 17 Concerto section, the Under 15 classical section and the Under 15 romantic section from the South Suburban Music Society, the Under 15 Romantic and Recital section in Fremantle Eisteddfod, the Under 15 recital section, Under 18 recital section, Under 18 Piano Concerto Section, Open Concerto Section in the Western Australian Pianist Competition. She also won the Senior Overall Pianist Award in the Western Australian Pianist Competition two years in a row.

In 2016, Tina won first prize in the Golden Key International Music Festival as well as second prize in the American Protégé and performed at Carnegie Hall, New York. During that year, Tina also obtained a music scholarship from St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School.

In 2017, Tina also performed in front of the Governor General in Canberra, Australia. In 2018, Tina entered the 6th Global International Piano Competition held in Shenzhen, China. Tina was invited to compete in Shenzhen in which she won first prize in her age category and was also one of the top 8 honoured pianists who were awarded with a contract giving them the opportunity to perform concerto works with many orchestras or as a soloist building up to the future.

In 2019, Tina won the first prize in the Concours international de piano “Ville de Gagny” competition in Gagny, France. While she was in France, she also completed her Diploma of International Conservatory of Music of Paris in which she received high distinction.

She also performed with the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra at Qintai Hall, in Wuhan, China in 2019 and the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in Perth, Western Australia in 2021.

Tina has participated in many choirs, bands and orchestras within her school and has also achieved Honours A in both her Grade 7 AMEB, and Grade 8 AMEB music exam. Tina was awarded her Associate Diploma Exam with Distinction and her Licentiate Diploma Exam. Tina also was awarded a High Distinction for the Trinity’s Licentiate Music Performance Diploma.

Tina has been awarded a scholarship program to have early matriculation for undergraduate part time music studies, and is now a full time student at the University of Western Australia.

In 2022, Tina received First Prize in the Young Lev Vlassenko Piano National Competition held in Brisbane Queensland, as well as receiving the Orchestra Musician’s Choice Award and the Concerto Prize. She also performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Johannes Fritzsch during the finals.
