Ha Yoon Kim
Ha Yoon begins her musical journey at the age of four and has since grown into a dedicated young violinist with a strong record of achievement. She has won multiple local eisteddfods, including being named the Overall String Player for the past two consecutive years at the Fremantle Eisteddfod. Her talent and commitment were further recognised through a music scholarship from All Saints’ College.
She started orchestral playing at the age of seven, quickly developing a passion for ensemble music. At ten, she was accepted into the West Australian Youth Orchestra (WAYO), joining the First Violin section as one of the youngest members. This year, at twelve, she was selected for the Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) Symphonists program.
Ha Yoon currently studies under Riley Skevington, Associate Concertmaster of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. She is also an active chamber and ensemble musician, with her groups earning multiple local awards, including the junior prize at the national chamber music competition, Strike a Chord.
Outside of music, she enjoys an active lifestyle and especially loves swimming, both indoors and at the beach.
Ha Yoon will be stepping onto the MetSO stage for our Summer Event :
