Emily Saito-Noble, an 11-year-old Australian pianist and music scholar at Presbyterian Ladies’ College in Perth, is currently studying under the tutelage of Mr. Yoon Sen Lee.
Emily previously studied with Dr. Raymond Yong, who played a key role in her early musical development. Her musical journey began at the age of three, nurtured by the Suzuki philosophy and Dalcroze Eurhythmics during early childhood. Her former mentors include Andy Li, Professor Armen Babakhanian, and Georgina Adamson.
Emily has received numerous awards and accolades both nationally and internationally. In October 2022, Emily won First Prize at the IV International Chopin Piano Competition Gloria Artis in Vienna. Later that year, she made her European performance debut at the Amphithéâtre Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris.
In 2023, Emily was awarded First Prizes at the American Talent Music Competition (USA) and the Golden Key Music Festival (USA). Emily also received First Prize and the Overall Judges’ Distinction Award at the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition in New York City. At the age of 9, she was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in April 2023 as part of the award ceremony.
In March 2023, at age 9, Emily was awarded an A+ High Distinction for her Certificate of Performance exam through the Australian Music Examination Board, and was later named the Best Certificate of Performance Award recipient in Western Australia. In March 2024, at age 10, Emily successfully attained the AMEB AmusA, Associate Diploma of Performance.
In 2024, Emily continued to receive top honours from local Eisteddfod and Competitions:
Junior Overall Best Pianist Award at the Fremantle Eisteddfod, along with First Prizes
Best Classical Performance Award at the WAMTA Recital & Concerto Competition, along with First Prize in the Concerto (Ages 10–13) section
Overall Best Performance Award at the ASC Combined Piano Competition, along with First Prize in the Under 18 Excellence category, selected from 238 competitors
Emily is also a passionate chamber musician, performing as both pianist and violinist. Her Piano Trio received First Prize in the Under 13 WA Young Artist Chamber Music Competition in both 2023 and 2024, and was also awarded a special Junior Prize by Strike A Chord – Musica Viva Australia in 2024. Her String Quartet has likewise received awards through multiple competitions.
Emily has a deep interest in Classical-era repertoire, as well as works influenced by Neoclassicism and Impressionism. Outside of music, she enjoys reading and playing netball, loves animals and nature, and likes experimenting with cooking in her spare time.
