Elise Rosenberg
MetSO Guest Concertmaster (2022-)
Elise was born and bred in Perth, and has been playing the violin for over 20 years. She has studied under a number of WA’s most renowned teachers, including Mrs Amanda Dryborough, Mrs Hooi Tong Lee, Ms Semra Lee-Smith and Mr Tzvi Friedl. Most recently, Elise achieved her AMusA in violin under the tutelage of Ms Samantha Wickramasinghe.
Elise has further developed her orchestral skills under the baton of many of our fantastic local Conductors: Peter Moore, Christopher Dragon, Aaron Wyatt, Rob Gladstones, Sam Parry, Laurissa Brooke, and now for this current MetSO season with Izaak Wesson. Elise is a founding member of South Side Symphony Orchestra (SSSO), and has also performed with the WA Charity Orchestra (now the West Coast Philharmonic), Allegri Chamber Orchestra as well as several community theatre productions.
Elise is also a member of up-and-coming Celtic folk band Amarach (meaning ‘tomorrow’ in Gaelic) which has performed in various events (including Perth Fringe Festival soon at the Albany International Folk ’n’ Shanty Festival) and venues around Perth for the past three years.
Outside of performing, Elise juggles a busy full-time job at the University of Western Australia, as well as teaching violin on weekends.
