Ellie Malonzo
A compelling program that weaves together towering tradition and bold innovation.
MetSO Artist in Residence, violinist-composer Ellie Malonzo takes centre stage in a dual role, performing both as soloist in Bruch’s sweeping Scottish Fantasy and in her own composition. Malonzo’s work brings a vibrant contemporary voice to the program, conversing with tradition as well as asserting a bold, new direction.
Johannes Brahms’ monumental Symphony No. 1 surges with emotional depth and classical grandeur, a work decades in the making that has earned its place amongst the great symphonic masterpieces. Under the baton of acclaimed MetSO Conductor Sara Duhig, this performance celebrates outstanding local talent and community spirit.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon where history, imagination, and musical stories converge.
